There are no noisy air-conditioners, radios, TV’s or fridges in the rooms. Keep binoculars close by as you relax on the viewing deck or in the bush lounge where refreshments are served, laze on a hammock under the shade of a tree, or cool down in the invigorating waters of the rock pool. Listen to the roar of the Lions in the distance, the sound of the Jackal as they roam the reserve, and the bark of the Hyena that electrifies the night.

DIRECTIONS TO HONGONYI PRIVATE GAME LODGE - (015) 793 2784 From Johannesburg & Pretoria + - 5 hours Please keep to the speed limit – the traffic cops are watching you! • Drive on the Witbank Highway (N4) – to Belfast. • Turn left into Belfast. • 5th Stop Street – turn right to Dullstroom • From Dullstroom, continue through to Lydenburg, Ohrigstad, Strijdom Tunnel & Hoedspruit - (beware of potholes other side of Orighstad) o In Hoedspruit, 3rd Stop Street turn right. (over bridge) o Travel for ±23km and pass the Cheetah Project on the left side. o About ±1km further on turn left into Guernsey o After security Gate - Tar for ±7km, dirt for ±2km o Hongonyi Entrance on left side of road o After signing in – follow pointers to o Speed Limit within the reserve is 20 – 30 km per hour PLEASE be aware of animals suddenly crossing the road in the Reserve Alternate short-cut route from the Strijdom Tunnel 1. Approximately 27kms from the Strydom tunnel - See sign to Orpen Gate / Acornhoek R531- turn right. 2. Continue for about 29km going under a railway bridge. 3. Almost immediately after the bridge, turn left to Hoedspruit on the R40. 4. +- 1 km see Guernsey sign – turn right. 5. Travel ±7km on tar (see Cheetah Inn – right side) 6. 2km on dirt turn left into Hongonyi / Gwalagwala entrance – left side. 7. Follow Lodge signs from there PLEASE watch out for speed bumps on the Reserve. From Nelspruit – Please keep to the speed limit on the main road – the traffic cops are watching you! • Travel towards Hoedspruit through White River, Hazyview and past Acornhoek. • Travel on past the turn-off to Orpen • Just before the overhead railway bridge, turn right onto the R40 to Phalaborwa • Take the 1st turn right to Guernsey • Follow directions from No. 5 above
